The jihadis in Saudi Arabia seem determined to practice a continuous level of low-scale violence trying to demonstrate to all Westerners that the House of Sa'ud cannot protect them. And they seem to be right.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead an American in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy said. . . .

The man has not been identified but his employer confirmed he had been killed. "Yes he worked for us," an official for Vinnel, a U.S. contracting company, told Reuters. He declined to give any further details.

Vinnel, a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp., helps train the Saudi National Guard -- an elite security force for the pro-U.S. monarchy. . . .

Tuesdays attack, the fifth in five weeks on Westerners in the kingdom that is battling al-Qaida militants, heightened security fears among the tens of thousands of expatriates in the worlds largest oil exporter.
