The left continues to gain in Latin America. The lastest good news comes out of Mexico, where the left-wing Partido de la Revolucion Democratica (PRD) "jump[ed] from 56 seats to at least 93 and perhaps as many as 100" in the mid-term Congressional elections. The PRD still runs third to the leading PRI and the neoliberal PAN, but is in a much better position now for the 2006 Presidential elections.
