An interesting demonstration of overproduction in the airline industry -- bordering on "news of the weird" quality -- is the huge jumbo jet storage lot in the Mojave Desert which is up to 230 planes. This is only one of five lots in the southwest which together have 734 planes in long term storage.

Apparently there are some good deals. Countries in the Global South are snatching up some of the jets on the cheap. Maybe you're in the market, too?
